Notability? I notice that James Hannam doesn’t have a wikipedia entry. Is he not notable enough? Even if someone thinks he is a fringe scholar, I would think he at least deserves his own page.
However, as Hannam shows in God’s Philosophers, if anything, the Medieval world wasn’t held back by its ignorance of Antiquity, but by too much deference for the philosophers of old.

This is just one of many entertaining anecdotes in the pages of James Hannam’s God’s Philosophers which I chuckled over as I read through it. Hence I will not be giving the author the Scaliger treatment, not least because it’s also one of the best narrative histories I have read in a long time.
